Indian stock Markets remained under pressure and extended their losing streak for the sixth straight session. In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index declined 2.05 per cent and the Nifty SmallCap index eased 2.2 per cent.
Overseas, European stocks traded higher on Friday despite U.S. President Donald Trump's latest tariff threats. The pan European Stoxx 600 edged up by 0.2 percent to 551.35 after falling 0.7 percent on Thursday amid tariff and rate jitters.
Meanwhile, Oil prices held steady on Friday and were on track for their sharpest weekly rise since early June, when Israel launched a missile strike on Iran. Whereas Gold edged up slightly on Friday and headed for its sixth weekly gain as investors awaited a key U.S. inflation reading later in the day and weighed the threat of a U.S. government shutdown.
On the corporate front, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Sun Pharma and Natco Pharma fell 2-3 percent in the healthcare sector, while IT stocks such as Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technologies all fell around 2 percent.
The 30-share benchmark index closed trading at 80426.46 down by -733.22 points or by -0.9 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24654.7 down by -236.15 points or by -0.95 %.
During the day’s trade, Sensex touched intraday high of 81033.09 and intraday low of 80332.41 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24868.6 and intraday low of 24629.45.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 712.85,-3.74%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3397.15,-3.70%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 321.05,-3.39%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 167.45,-2.81%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 985.00,-2.75%), among others.
Among the sectors, FMCG index was at 20149.18 up by -128.31 points or by -0.63%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 720.15,+4.89%), Zydus Wellness Ltd. (Rs. 481.55,+1.71%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 405.05,+1.21%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd. (Rs. 9041.00,+0.80%), Hatsun Agro Products Ltd. (Rs. 894.35,+0.07%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4465 , shares advanced were 1126 while 3175 shares declined and 164 were unchanged.
