Indian equities are trading under pressure on early morning after the Trump administration said it would impose new tariffs on heavy trucks, drugs and kitchen cabinets. Except auto, all other sectoral indices are trading in the red with IT, pharma, PSU Bank down 1-2 percent.
Among shares, shares of Waaree Energies tumbled over 5 per cent on Friday on reports that the US is investigating for evading anti-dumping and countervailing duties on solar cells from China and other Asian countries.
At 10:27 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80877.26 down by -282.42 points or by -0.35 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24780.5 down by -110.35 points or by -0.44 %.
The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 81033.09 and intraday low of 80708.34 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24868.6 and intraday low of 24759.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3730.55,+2.37%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 677.00,+1.92%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16400.25,+0.80%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3395.25,+0.51%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 401.80,+0.40%), among others.
On the flip side Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1581.50,-2.86%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 725.05,-2.09%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2360.10,-1.78%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3474.65,-1.51%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1463.75,-1.41%), among others were among top losers on the BSE.
