Post-Session: Sensex falls 386 points, Nifty near 25,050; 4th day of losses

Indian stock markets stayed under selling pressure for a fourth consecutive day with the BSE Sensex settling 386 points lower.

Tata Motors, Bharat Electronics, Adani Enterprises, Wipro, Jio Financial Services, Bajaj Auto, IndusInd Bank, Hero MotoCorp, Ultratech Cement, Axis Bank, and Tech M were the top losers on the Nifty index today as their shares dropped in the range of 1 per cent to 2.6 per cent.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 81715.63 down by -386.47 points or by -0.47 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25056.9 down by -112.6 points or by -0.45 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 82045.47 and intraday low of 81607.84 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25149.85 and intraday low of 25027.45

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 293.30,+1.63%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2558.90,+1.48%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 347.55,+1.31%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1179.55,+0.95%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16240.00,+0.88%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 682.75,-2.67%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 740.70,-1.93%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12211.80,-1.52%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1452.75,-1.30%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3574.60,-1.13%), among others.

FMCG index was at 20398.86 up by 22.4 points or by 0.11%. Manorama Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1470.00,+2.77%), Zydus Wellness Ltd. (Rs. 485.60,+2.46%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd. (Rs. 42.64,+2.06%), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd. (Rs. 13670.00,+1.90%), CCL Products India Ltd. (Rs. 916.65,+1.81%),.

Realty index was at 6914.64 down by -174.84 points or by -2.47%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2019.00,-4.05%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 733.65,-3.44%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1617.00,-2.98%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1583.00,-2.55%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1179.20,-2.18%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4511 , shares advanced were 1696 while 2650 shares declined and 165 were unchanged.
