Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty closed in the red on Monday, pressured by IT stocks following US President Donald Trump’s move to hike H-1B visa fees to USD 1,00,000 per worker.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 82159.97 down by -466.26 points or by -0.56 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25202.35 down by -124.7 points or by -0.49 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 82583.16 and intraday low of 81997.29 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25331.7 and intraday low of 25151.05

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 341.75,+1.55%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1006.00,+1.31%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1444.40,+1.17%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12642.00,+0.98%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1144.20,+0.73%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1504.20,-3.20%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3074.05,-3.02%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1500.10,-2.61%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1440.40,-1.84%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 696.10,-1.69%), among others.
