Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, are expected to open on a weak note on Monday, tracking GIFT Nifty, which was trading around 25,329.

Over the weekend, Donald Trump signed an executive order raising the H-1B visa application fee to $100,000, up from the earlier $2,000–5,000. The White House clarified that this will be a one-time payment, effective from September 21, a move likely to squeeze margins for Indian outsourcing companies.
Analysts anticipate a knee-jerk reaction in IT shares, though they note that declining reliance on H-1B visas in recent years could cushion the impact.
Further, the revised Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates take effect today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday described the rollout as ushering in a “savings festival” and urged citizens to adopt “swadeshi” practices.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal is set to visit the US today in an effort to ease trade tensions between the two nations.
On Friday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 82626.23 down by -387.73 points or by -0.47 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25327.05 down by -96.55 points or by -0.38 %.
On the global front, Japan's Nikkei was up 1.4 per cent after the Bank of Japan (BoJ) unveiled a plan to offload its massive exchange-traded fund holdings. South Korea's Kospi rose 0.9 per cent, last checked.
On Friday, stocks on Wall Street closed higher amid expectations of more rate cuts in upcoming policy meetings. The S&P 500 index and the tech-heavy Nasdaq closed 0.49 per cent and 0.72 per cent higher, respectively.
