The benchmark Indian equity indices ended the week's last trading session in negative territory after US President Donald Trump announced tariffs on various trading-partner countries, effective August 7, including 25 per cent tariffs on Indian imports. Notably, Trump has held India's adjusted tariffs steady at 25 per cent.

The 30-share benchmark indices ended at 80599.91 down by -585.67 points or by -0.72 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24565.35 down by -203 points or by -0.82 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 81317.51 and intraday low of 80495.57 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24784.15 and intraday low of 24535.05

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2429.45,+1.40%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2275.95,+1.18%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2551.35,+1.17%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 416.50,+1.14%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1996.00,+0.88%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1629.05,-4.49%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 153.00,-3.04%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12299.35,-2.65%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 648.75,-2.60%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1470.60,-2.52%), among others.
