Benchmark Indian equity indices ended Thursday's volatile session in negative territory following US President Donald Trump's announcement of a 25 per cent tariff on Indian exports.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 81185.58 down by -296.28 points or by -0.36 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24768.35 down by -86.7 points or by -0.35 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 81803.27 and intraday low of 80695.15 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24956.5 and intraday low of 24635

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2521.85,+3.48%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 307.85,+1.40%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 411.80,+1.01%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1978.60,+0.96%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2249.45,+0.79%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 157.80,-2.20%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1705.55,-1.69%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1373.20,-1.50%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1390.30,-1.39%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 334.25,-1.37%), among others.
