Indian equities edged higher in the afternoon trade, after trading flat, amid stock-specific action as Dalal Street focused on Q1 results from various companies.

At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81193.47 up by 302.45 points or by 0.37 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24819.1 up by 138.2 points or by 0.56 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 81337.09 and intraday low of 80575.45 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24820.3 and intraday low of 24598.6

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3493.50,+2.08%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2403.95,+1.91%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1410.00,+1.64%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1917.90,+1.36%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 690.10,+1.14%), among others.
