Indian markets opened flat on Monday, June 16, as investors tracked escalating tensions in West Asia. Oil and other commodity prices rose amid reports of attacks on nuclear sites and oil infrastructure by Israel and Iran.

At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81296.95 up by 178.35 points or by 0.22 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24785.6 up by 67 points or by 0.27 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 81409.06 and intraday low of 81012.31 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24817.65 and intraday low of 24703.6

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 289.00,+1.16%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11335.25,+1.02%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1858.30,+0.88%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3618.00,+0.83%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1705.70,+0.64%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 679.65,-4.55%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1197.65,-0.69%), State Bank of India (Rs. 789.65,-0.35%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1683.10,-0.33%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 151.75,-0.30%), among others.
