Indian benchmarks continued to hover in red during the noon trading session amid decline in auto, metal and bank stocks. In the broader markets, the Nifty Midcap 100 was ahead by 0.23 per cent, and the Nifty Smallcap 100 was higher by 0.38 per cent.

Among stocks, Whirlpool of India surged 10 per cent to ₹1,316.50 in Tuesday’s intra-day trade on the BSE. ata Technologies, Reliance Industries, BSE Limited, Mazagon Dock and PNB Housing Finance are among most active shares on the NSE.

Overseas, European stocks are seen opening flat to slightly higher on Tuesday as investors watch the latest developments on trade talks and await cues from some big U.S. tech companies.

At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80217.39 down by -0.98 points or by 0 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24313.1 down by -15.4 points or by -0.06 %.

In the choppy trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 80661.31 and intraday low of 80122.02 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24457.65 and intraday low of 24290.75.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1405.50,+2.70%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1490.75,+1.98%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3473.10,+0.86%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1561.20,+0.76%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 228.90,+0.73%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11833.50,-2.27%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 302.60,-1.96%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1820.40,-1.16%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2382.10,-0.92%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 358.10,-0.86%), among others.

Among the sectors, CGS index was at 63507.61 up by 809.18 points or by 1.29%. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (Rs. 4632.50,+4.66%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 319.25,+4.60%), Bharat Dynamics Ltd.
