Indian benchmarks are expected to start the day on flat note as investors react to macroeconomic data. Trends on GIFT Nifty indicate a flat start for the broader index in India, with a gain of 26 points or 0.11 percent. The Nifty futures were trading around 24,495.50 level.

Meanwhile Asian stocks were broadly higher this morning as senior Chinese officials outlined plans to support jobs and help exporters and hinted at the possibility of more stimulus.

Overseas, Wall Street indices ended a choppy session on a positive note. The S&P 500 gained slightly by 0.06 per cent to close at 5,528.75, the Nasdaq Composite ticked 0.1 per cent lower and ended at 17,366.13, and the Dow Jones rose 0.28 per cent, to settle at 40,227.59.

Oil prices fell on Tuesday, as investors lowered their demand growth expectations due to the ongoing trade war between the United States and China, the world's two biggest economies.

On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 80218.37 up by 1005.84 points or by 1.27 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24328.5 up by 289.15 points or by 1.2 %.

Total numbers of contracts for index options were 72863416 with a total turnover of Rs. 13150312.56 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 5130041 with a total turnover of Rs. 335540.42 Crore.

The FIIs on 28/04/2025 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 18713.45 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 199.49 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 13673.08 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 626.78 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 5040.37 Crore and Rs. -427.29.
