Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty closed higher on Tuesday, extending the gaining streak to the sixth day on continuous foreign fund inflows and buying in banking shares.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 79595.59 up by 187.09 points or by 0.24 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24167.25 up by 41.7 points or by 0.17 %

Sensex touched intraday high of 79824.3 and intraday low of 79253.44 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24242.6 and intraday low of 24072

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 433.70,+2.58%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2399.10,+2.09%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2817.15,+1.89%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1961.90,+1.78%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 237.45,+1.41%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 787.65,-4.88%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 312.60,-2.30%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1422.40,-1.93%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1852.00,-1.68%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2077.90,-1.25%), among others.
