Karur Vysya Bank Ltd has announced the co-option of Dr Mythili Vutukuru as an Additional Director in the Independent category on September 24, 2025. Her appointment, made under Section 161 of the Companies Act, 2013, is subject to shareholder approval within three months, in line with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The Bank has also confirmed that Dr Vutukuru is not barred from holding the office of Director by SEBI or any other regulatory authority.

Dr Mythili Vutukuru is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay, where she has served since 2013. She holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Madras (2004) and an MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT, Cambridge (2006, 2010). Prior to joining IIT Bombay, she worked in the telecommunication networking startup sector.

An accomplished researcher and educator, Dr Vutukuru’s expertise spans operating systems, computer networking, virtualization, and cloud computing. She has supervised five PhD students and over 50 Masters students, received awards for teaching excellence at both IIT Bombay and MIT, and contributed extensively to outreach initiatives through platforms like YouTube and NPTEL. She has also advised mid-sized corporates and startups on technology matters and serves as an external expert in the Standing Committee on Technology at NSE Clearing Limited since 2021.

Dr Vutukuru is not related to any other director of the Bank.
