On the occasion of Seva Parv, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has launched Khadi Mahotsav 2025, running from September 17 to October 23, across India to promote the message of “Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar-Ghar Swadeshi.”

The festival was inaugurated by KVIC Chairman Shri Manoj Kumar in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following this, KVIC’s Central Office in Mumbai hosted events on September 18–19, highlighting the connection between Swadeshi, cleanliness, and self-reliance.

As part of the celebrations, a Cleanliness Drive was organized at Juhu Beach, Mumbai, on September 18, led by Shri Manoj Kumar, who urged officials, employees, and local citizens to actively contribute to building a clean and green India. Hundreds of KVIC officials and employees participated in the campaign. On September 19, winners of various competitions were felicitated with awards and certificates, while Shri Manoj Kumar emphasized Khadi’s role in the Swadeshi Revolution and its contribution to the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat, noting that Khadi has now evolved into a symbol of self-reliance connecting village artisans from farm to fashion. He also highlighted that KVIC’s business has crossed the milestone of Rs 1.70 lakh crore over the last 11 years.

KVIC CEO Ms. Roop Rashi said initiatives like Seva Parv and GST benefits are helping the younger generation appreciate the values of Khadi and Swadeshi, describing the fabric as a symbol of artisans’ dedication, cultural identity, and self-reliance.

During the Mahotsav, KVIC employees in Mumbai participated in a ‘Khadi Yatra’, walked in traditional Khadi attire, and took a pledge to promote Swadeshi under the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’. A vibrant Swadeshi Rangoli competition was also organized, with enthusiastic participation from all attendees.
