Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has informed that on September 18, 2025, at around 8:50 AM, a small fire broke out in Granulation Area-10 of Unit IV of APL Healthcare Limited — a wholly owned subsidiary of the company — located at Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh (SEZ Unit). The fire, caused by a short circuit, spread to an electrical panel, affecting Granulation Area-10 and partially damaging Granulation Area-8. Out of the total 19 production lines at the facility, two lines are expected to be impacted for about two weeks.
The company stated that the incident was promptly brought under control by its in-house fire hydrant team with support from external fire tenders. There were no casualties or injuries reported, and the temporary disruption is estimated to affect only about three percent of the unit’s monthly capacity. Refurbishment and restoration efforts have already begun, and the affected areas are expected to become operational within the next few weeks.
Aurobindo Pharma emphasized that it has taken all necessary measures to ensure employee safety, protect assets, and maintain continuity of operations. The company added that the incident is not expected to have any material financial or operational impact.
