The rupee traded in a narrow range on Friday morning, weakening by 7 paise to 88.27 against the US dollar amid broad dollar strength and a weak trend in domestic equities.
According to forex dealers, a rebound in the US dollar limited gains for the local currency, while concerns over potential US tariffs on India further dampened sentiment.
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 88.22 before slipping to a low of 88.27 against the greenback, marking a 7-paise decline from its previous close.
