Brightcom Group Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Close Quarters Tactical (CQT) Weapon Systems, a US-based defence manufacturer, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The collaboration marks a major milestone for Brightcom Defence, the division launched in August 2025 to focus on AI-powered aerospace intelligence and autonomous defence technologies.
The company said the partnership would combine Brightcom’s AI-driven platforms with CQT’s precision-engineered rifles, components, and tactical systems, enabling the creation of deployable defence solutions. The move aligns with Brightcom Defence’s roadmap, which emphasizes next-generation capabilities such as swarm coordination, intelligent threat response, and the integration of advanced weapon systems.
CQT Weapon Systems, headquartered in Michigan, is known for its tactical rifles, specialized platforms, precision components, and mission-ready systems used by military and law enforcement agencies. Its reputation for reliability and performance is expected to complement Brightcom’s expertise in digital and AI solutions.
Suresh Reddy, Chairman of Brightcom Group, said the partnership would allow the company to translate software innovation into fully deployable defence systems by leveraging CQT’s decades of experience in precision engineering and tactical hardware.
The MoU outlines collaboration across business development, product sourcing, and the integration of software-enabled defence systems. Together, the companies plan to pursue opportunities in India, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, and other allied defence markets. Their focus will include cooperation with defence ministries, public sector undertakings, and private contractors, as well as support for India’s armed forces and allied militaries.
The partnership will also facilitate the adaptation of CQT’s tactical platforms to meet operational and regulatory requirements across multiple regions, with scope for technology transfer, co-development, and localized manufacturing in line with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and international offset policies.
Al Dustan II, CEO of CQT Weapon Systems, said the collaboration would ensure that the company’s hardware evolves into intelligent, adaptive systems. He emphasized that Brightcom’s AI expertise would make CQT’s solutions digitally advanced for the future of modern warfare.
The integration of Brightcom’s AI, machine learning, and data systems is expected to support mission-critical applications ranging from swarm coordination and autonomous combat platforms to aerospace command-and-control and cyber-secure architectures.
Brightcom said the partnership with CQT represents the first step in building an ecosystem that seamlessly blends AI, software, and advanced hardware to serve India and its allied defence markets with cutting-edge technologies.
