Copper prices edged up by 0.24% to Rs 878.25 per kilogram in futures trade on Friday, supported by strong demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), August delivery contracts gained Rs 2.10 or 0.24%, reaching Rs 878.25 per kg, with a trading volume of 6,909 lots.
Analysts said the uptick was driven by increased buying interest from market participants amid steady demand.
